What do Christians believe about God, Jesus Christ, salvation, sin, and eternity? Why did Jesus have to die on the cross? What makes Christianity different from other world religions? And how can we confidently explain and defend our faith?
In this online high school Bible course, students explore Christianity’s foundational doctrines through a systematic study of the Bible. Topics include: Bibliology (the Bible), Theology (God), Christology (Jesus Christ), and Pneumatology (the Holy Spirit). Students will also study Anthropology (humanity), Hamartiology (sin), Soteriology (salvation), Ecclesiology (the Church), and Eschatology (last things).
Students will examine the person and work of Jesus Christ, the significance of His death and resurrection, and God’s plan of redemption and gift of sanctification. They will also compare Christianity with major world religions, understanding how Islam, Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and other religious traditions understand Jesus. Students will learn how to communicate the gospel with biblical understanding, confidence, kindness, and respect.
The goal of this course is not simply for students to know more about God, but to know Him more deeply, understand the salvation offered through Jesus Christ, how to live fully in God’s kingdom, and become better equipped to share and defend their faith in everyday life.
