Online High School Classes are interactive, live high school classes with personalized support by professional educators. Lessons and discussions are engaging and offer hands-on activities, problem-solving, and real-life application. Our classes are not pre-recorded videos and are not self-paced.
All instruction, grading, and support are handled by professional educators – no parent prep is required.
Our classes are designed to complement traditional school and homeschool learning.
Textbooks and shipping costs are included in the course price. Course prices are listed in Canadian Dollars. Full payment for a course is required to register and reserve your student’s spot in the course.
All live, online classes are held on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays for 40 minutes. Additional homework is assigned on an as-needed basis if the class needs extra practice to solidify the lesson content. Teachers recommend homework be completed right after class to reinforce the learning. Homework shouldn’t take longer than fifteen minutes to complete. Additional practice problems are available in the textbook and online portal in preparation for a quiz or test.
Completed homework, quizzes, and tests are to be scanned and submitted to the teacher through the learning portal. All grading is handled by the teacher. No parent marking is required. Please see below the FAQ regarding the technology required for the class.
Class size remains small (twenty students or under) to offer individualized instruction and provide plenty of time to ask questions. Classes are taught in English.
Regular attendance is expected for success and counts toward the final grade. Classes are recorded in case a student misses or wants to replay the instruction.
We believe every student is capable of success. We genuinely care about supporting each child to the fullest. We invite you to contact us through our Contact page so that together we can determine whether our online high school classes are right for your child.
Online High School Classes provide live, teacher-led instruction, allowing your child to ask their questions right away, especially if they struggle with math. No pre-recorded videos or confusion piling up. Teachers are patient and kind, offering personalized instruction and feedback as to how your child is doing. Additional support is available through tutoring sessions.
The following technology is required for all Online High School Classes: a laptop or IPAD, internet connection, a printer, Zoom with camera on for student accountability, a headset with microphone, and a scanner or a picture to PDF app such as Adobe Scan.
Parents are to take responsibility for creating their own homeschool student’s transcript. However, to support parents in this, upon completion of each course, Online High School Classes offers a written transcript including a final grade, full course description, and a letter of recommendation.
Online High School Classes are not accredited at this time. Kimberly Muhtar is an independent educator. However, all course material and instruction align with provincial and state standards for academic and university-level preparation.
Please note that Online High School Classes offers the Ontario MPM1D Principles of Mathematics, Grade 9 Academic Algebra 1. The current math required for Ontario students in grade 9 is MTH1W, a destreamed math. MTH1W replaced MPM1D as of September 2021. Online High School Classes believe strongly in preparing homeschool students for university-level preparation; therefore, course content meets academic standards.
Online High School Classes require students to write a final exam at the end of the course. This exam must be written pen-to-paper while in the continuous presence of an approved proctor.
Who can proctor?
A proctor is any professional adult, outside of the student’s parent or legal guardian, who is willing to sit with the student to administer and supervise the writing of the final exam, ensuring that all exam procedures are properly followed. The date, time, location, and proctor are all selected by the student. Proctors must have access to a printer and scanner, and must not be related to the student.
How are exams scheduled?
Students submit their proctor’s details, including their professional email address and phone number to their teacher. Once approved, the student and proctor can mutually agree on the best date, time, and location of the exam. Then, Proctors are emailed a copy of the exam and policy form before the scheduled time. The approved Proctor and student may then proceed with the final exam as scheduled. Once the final exam is written, the proctor sends the exam back to the teacher as a scanned, clearly legible PDF document. If a student chooses a proctor who charges a fee for their services, Online High School Classes is not responsible for that fee.
Respect and Kindness
Students commit to respect and kindness. An academic setting affords frequent opportunities to consider differing opinions and ideas. While Online High School Classes and its teachers stand by a worldview that sees the Bible as the standard for truth, we encourage students to present and defend their views and to open-mindedly consider positions other than their own. In this, we insist that all interactions be conducted with kindness and respect. We seek to always speak truth in love, remembering that love is patient, kind and gentle. We do not tolerate personal attacks or insults, or any other approach that belittles other people, regardless of their viewpoint. This standard applies to online Zoom classes, discussion forums, tutoring sessions, and all other interactive mediums within Online High School Classes.
Politics, Social Action, and Denominations
Online High School Classes is an independent educational platform and not a public forum for promoting political, social, or denominational organizations, parties, or platforms. Political, social, or denominational discussions are limited to what is directly related to the academic context (e.g., topic of the course, topic of the forum), and all matters must be discussed academically with respectful consideration of alternate viewpoints.
Academic Integrity
Online High School Classes require all work submitted by a student to be original to that student. Any work submitted that is substantially derived from another source – including texts, websites, AI, peers, parents, or any other – cannot be credited to the student and may be scored as zero in the gradebook.
Any violation of the above student code of behaviors is not permitted. Students who violate Online High School Classes‘ student code of behavior outlined above will be dismissed from class without a refund.
